Updates: He can stand from sitting on his own unassisted by pulling up on any furniture. He took his 1st step last week. We've made the switch to whole milk with no issues and he is eating all table foods like a champ. He only gets one bottle a day at bedtime, otherwise he uses the sippy cups so we will transition away from the bottle in the coming weeks. His year appointment is in 2 weeks so I'm anxious to find out his height and weight! He continues to be a great little guy.
Happy 1st Birthday to our Baby Boy!! I never could have imagined what a loving, cuddly and determined little boy you have become. Every sleepless night, every morning cuddle, every tantrum and every smile have made this 1st year full of unforgettable memories. Watching the bond grow between you and your sister, seeing your face light up when Daddy enters the room and the way you wrap your fingers around my hair to fall asleep makes me want to freeze these moments in time. Today as you turn one, we are incredibly thankful for a healthy, happy little boy who completes our family. We love you more than words could ever express.
Since it's her 1st year of school photos I was suckered into buying the entire package...I just couldn't leave any pics there. I promised Brian I wouldn't buy the entire package every year...maybe ;-). Every time I look at these pictures I find it hard to believe that she's only 3!
Papa is back in Florida...I now jokingly refer to him as a Florida snowbird!! On Sunday we told Addison we were going to Nana and Papa's house to pick up some things. We wanted to surprise her so we didn't tell her that Papa was going to be there. As soon as we walked in the door she had a moment of shock before it sank in that Papa was back. She was so excited she jumped up and gave him a big hug. For the rest of the day the kids were glued to Papa. We went to the playground and all she said was "Papa push me on the swing. Papa watch me go down the slide. Papa chase me." When he left our house Sunday evening she started crying...all out screaming and kicking and sobbing. Papa promised her that he would come back on Monday night. First thing she asked me Monday morning when she woke up was "Is it Monday now? Is Papa coming over today?"
Four months after being in our home I'm finally getting the kid's room decorated. Thanks to Uncle Ron and Dad for putting the shelves up! I've had these shelves since Addison was born and never got around to hanging them up...they were still in the original packaging.
Last week I had a friend in the New York/New Jersey area send out a request for donations for the victims of the hurricane. I put a post on FB and within minutes I had people messaging me, commenting and texting me asking how they could help. I received numerous donations on top of all the kids clothes I had stashed away. Addison helped tape the boxes but of course she thought the clothes were for her and started modeling and trying on some of the donated items :-) As I was packing I couldn't help but think of all the people without power, food, water, clothes, a home, etc. And on top of the hurricane they then received a snowstorm yesterday. How much can one take?!?! I'm hoping the many warm coats, pajamas, gloves, etc will be able to help as many people as possible. This is a time for everyone to pull together and help our fellow friends and neighbors in need. If you would like to donate any items please leave a comment below with your email address and I will send you the addresses of people/places/organizations in need. Please help!
