Still Sick

Addison finished her antibiotic on Sunday after taking it for 10 days. Throughout the course of taking it she was still getting a fever off and on and would wake up numerous times at night with a fever and crying. She also complained that her stomach hurt and wouldn't eat. We took her back to the Doctor to figure out why she was still having a fever after coming off of an antibiotic. Turns out she still has an infection in her left ear and now also has an infection in her right ear as well.

She has also had a horrible cough at night keeping her as well as me up all night. It has been a rough couple weeks and I was hoping she would get better...I never imagined she would still be sick.

Now she's on another antibiotic for 10 days. The Doctor said they don't like giving antibiotic back to back but since she's still experiencing a fever then they have no other option. The Doctor said the cough is allergy related and that her lungs don't have any congestion or wheezing sounds. The Doctor recommended giving her Benadryl at bedtime. Also since the combination of two back to back antibiotics totaling 20 days the Doctor gave us BioGaia probiotic straws in order to put the good bacteria back into her intestinal track.

I feel like we are over medicating at this point but I know it's short lived in order to get her better.
