I have a great group of online friends. The other day one of my friends posted a poll that I thought had great questions. Here are my responses:Did you breastfeed? If so for how long? Yes, for 9-10 weeks
Did/do you cloth diaper? No
What brand of diapers have worked best for you? Pampers swaddlers worked great for the newborn and size 1, then switched to Target brand, now back to Pampers Cruisers
When did you start solids? Cereal at 4 months, Stage 2 foods at 6 months and now at 9 months starting Stage 3 foods, gerber snacks and tastes of table food.
What has been your baby's favorite food? Stage 3 Lasagna
Did you get professional maternity pics? Pro newborn pics? No. Yes.
Did you find out what you were having? Will you in the future? Yes. Undecided
What has been the biggest surprise about motherhood? How much love I have for her. Realizing she's the only blood relative I've ever known is very bittersweet for me. I love seeing the different mannerisms she's picked up from either Brian or myself...it's so funny. I love pillows and blankets and when you put her around pillows or blankets she seriously gets the biggest smile, starts laughing and does face plants into the pillow repeatedly...lol.
Biggest surprise about labor and delivery? How easy it was, how high of a pain tolerance I had. How much down time there was between being admitted and delivery.
Are you a working mom or Stay At Home Mom? I will soon be a part time work from home mom!
How far along were you when you had the baby? 2 days before her due date.
Did you have a hard time coming up with or agreeing on names? We both agreed on a boys name, but went through a couple girls names before agreeing.
Did you plan to getting pregnant a certain time of the year? Did that work out? No. N/A
Any advice for the pregnant ladies? Don't sweat the small stuff. Your house doesn't have to be spotless, the laundry doesn't have to be folded right now, the dishes can sit in the dishwasher a little bit longer...spend all the time you can with your babies. Nap when your babies nap because you'll need the extra energy in the beginning for the sleepless nights. When friends and family offer to help out with cooking/housework-take them up on their offer, that way you'll be able to spend precious time with your baby. Don't critize your husband if he isn't doing something the way you would because if you critize him you may be detering him from helping with the baby. It's a learning process for both of you. Only intervene if he's putting the diaper on backwards :-)
