Meeting Kambry

Here are some pics from Addison meeting Kambry this weekend when we were in Nebraska. Kambry is my friend Jackie's daughter. She is 15 months old. Jackie and I have been friends since kindergarten so it was great to see her again and meet her little one. Kambry is so stinkin' cute!!

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Tomorrow we leave for Nebraska for Thanksgiving! I'm beyond excited. I love going home and seeing all my family and friends. Mom has been preparing for our arrival for over a month now. She's been buying things for the baby to eliminate us having to pack so much stuff and my cousin is letting us borrow a car seat, stroller, etc. My mom called the other night to let me know she was washing all the outfits she got for Addison for when we are there and she said they barely all fit in the washer...haha...gotta love Nana's spoiling :-)

We have a long day of flying ahead of us. Our first flight is 3 hours, a 2 hour layover and the second flight is 1 hr 45 minutes. I'm hoping she'll sleep for some of it and that Brian and I will be able to keep her content. Being a mother has now made me sympathize with all the mom's with screaming babies on the plane. Wish us Luck!!

Shhh...Baby Sleeping

I'm so amazed at what wiggle worms children are when they are asleep. Everynight I put Addison to bed on her back in the middle of the crib and whenever I check on her before going to bed myself she's usually on her side up against the side of the crib but almost always she has to have her head touching a bumper pad side, it must be a "comfort" for her. Every morning I wake up to her laying on her tummy horizontally in her crib...so I had to take some pics of her this morning. My little sleepy head.

Here's a few pics of Addison from last night. I just love her little tights!! She love love loves her "Sophie la Giraffe" She's always chewing on her ears or hooves. Looking at these pics I can't believe how big she's getting. She's growing up wayyyy to fast!

Another "First"

Last night while Addison was taking a bath she went poo. Yep, poo in the tub. She's not one that takes forever and grunts to poo she does it so discreetly so I thought maybe she was but then I ignored it until I saw a small flake of poo floating in the water. I then picked her up and she had a big cow patty under her butt. Luckily Brian cleaned it up. Eww Eww Eww!!

6 Month Checkup

Yesterday was Addison's 6th month checkup. It was almost two weeks late because I wanted her to get the seasonal flu shot but they were out and not expecting a new shipment in until this week. We arrived and there were TONS of kids at the office-some sick and all the others were there for the H1N1 shot. I had never seen that many kids in there before. The nurse said it was their busiest day of the year. Addison was due to get 3 immunizations and 1 flu shot. The nurse said the max amount of shots you can give an infant at one time is 4, but the Dr said he preferred to do 3 yesterday then she'll come back in 4 weeks for the others. I guess the flu shot has 3 boosters that are to be given every 4 weeks. He was going to give her the 3 regular immunizations and the flu shot next month but I told him we are flying in two weeks and I want her to get at least one dose of the flu shot before then. I opted not to get the H1N1 vaccine because I honestly don't trust the first round of any vaccination. Crossing my fingers that this decision doesn't come back to bite me.

Addison weighs 18lbs 7oz and is 27 3/4 inches. She is in the 90th percentile for height and weight. He said she looks good and has great social skills. She was babbling and smiling the entire time, and when we were in the lobby waiting to be called back she was smiling at everyone and kept saying da-da over and over and over :-). She did so good with her shots. The first shot she whimpered, the second shot nothing and the third shot(flu shot) she did cry but stopped as soon as I picked her up.

The Dr. said to start her on Stage 2 foods. He said do Stage 2 foods from 6-9 months, introduce the Stage 2 meats and juice at 7 months, then Stage 3 foods are from 9-12 months. He said to offer water after each "meal" which a friend recommended to me a month ago so I've been doing via sippy cup and she's been doing really well with it. I'm so thankful that she's healthy and happy!!

Here's a couple of videos of Addison. One is of her drinking from her sippy cup-she gets excited and starts drinking fast so at the end of the video you'll see that she got a little too much water. The second video is of her saying da-da(indirectly).

First Words!!

Addison has been saying da-da for almost a week and this weekend she finally said ma. I was so excited that I teared up when she said it. She usually says da-da indirectly but she was playing with Brian and I walked in the room and she looked at me and said "ma." I just melted.

Time to think about Christmas

So I decided to get things done early this year. I have already purchased one gift for my parents and then I also designed a calendar that I'll be ordering for them. Here is a LINK to preview. I hope they love it.

I also ordered our Christmas photo cards and they arrived yesterday. They turned out so good...I can't wait to send them out!! And shutterfly was offering a great deal if you ordered early. If you order 50 you get 25 for free. I'm all about a great deal!

First Halloween

I swear Addison knew it was Halloween because on Saturday she refused to take a long nap which is so unlike her. So we had two choices-our local supermarket was having "safe trick or treating" or a local church was doing "trunk or treat" Brian suggested to take her to the supermarket because it was hot outside and with her costume she would be sweating the whole time. So off to Publix we went and it was totally lame! They only had candy in three areas of the store and you had to get it yourself-no one was handing it out. So once we left there it had cooled off some so we decided to go to trunk or treat.

Addison decided that the nap she fought all day was sounding pretty tempting and she fell asleep on the way there. So for most of the trunk or treat she was asleep with Brian carrying her and I was collecting the candy :-) We then went home and kept her dressed up so the trick or treaters could see her. Since she's so young we didn't want to take her door to door but next year she'll be walking so we definitely will take her out. And I guess people relate a cow costume to little boys because everyone kept referring to her as a him. Only 2 people out of 10 guessed she was a girl. One guy even asked her name and when we told him "Addison" he replies you are a handsome little boy...lol. It'll be a great story to tell her one day.
