Pregnancy Questions Answered

Since being pregnant people always ask lots of questions out of curiosity and some people may think it's annoying to be asked over and over-what's your due date, how are you feeling, etc...I'm not annoyed by these questions at all. I LOVE being pregnant, therefore I LOVE to answer all these questions. I feel very fortunate to be able to have children and want to share as much as my experience as possible with others via talking about it and sharing belly pics :-) Here's some common questions I get asked on a regular basis that I did my best to answer.

1. Was the pregnancy planned?
Yes

2. Were you married at the time of the pregnancy?

Yes

3. How old were you when you got pregnant?
30

4. Did you want a boy or girl?
Honestly we didn't care either way. At our first dr. appt the dr. asked us what
gender we preferred and we both said "Just a healthy baby" He was shocked and
said almost every couple has their mind set on a boy or girl.

5. What are you having?
Girl

6. Do you have a name picked out?
Yes, her name will be Addison Marie

7. What is your due date?
May 2, 2009

8. What's the first item you bought for the baby?
Cothes. As soon as we found out she was a girl we went shopping and bought
lots of cute pink clothes.

9. How has the pregnancy been going?
Perfectly...besides all the bloodwork and low iron

10. Any cravings?
The first trimester my cravings changed weekly. One week I could only eat
spaghetti O's, one week veggie subs/wraps, one week burritos, etc. I couldn't
eat any meat for the first 13-14 weeks. The thought of meat made my stomach
turn. I love salt and vinegar chips on wheat bread with mayo, which my sweet
hubby makes for me :-)
Wheat crackers with cream cheese
Salad
BBQ Pork

11. How much time are you taking off for maternity leave?
I'm planning on taking 2 months off

12. Are you having a shower?
Yes-it'll be in March. The hostess will be sending the invitations out soon.

13. Where are you registered at?
Babies R Us and Target

14. Is the nursery done?
We are fortunate to have a very large master bedroom so we will be keeping
Addison in our room for the first nine months or so before moving her into her
own room. We want to cherish as much time as possible with her. We painted
one wall of our room to a light green so it'll be "Addison's Space"
As far as nursery furniture we have everything!! We have a bassinet, 4-n-1
convertible crib, changing table, glider and ottoman and my mom will be
bringing the dresser I used as a child this summer when she comes to visit.

15. Are you going to Breastfeed or Bottle feed?
I'm undecided at this point. At first I just wanted to bottle feed since I'm
returning to work and don't want to deal with pumping during the work day, but
every time I talk to my mom she further convinces me to breastfeed for the 2
months I'll be home with Addison then deciding after that whether or not I
want to continue breastfeeding or go to bottle feeding.

16. Have you been keeping a pregnancy journal?
Yes, I write in it at least once a week. I can't wait to give it to Addison one day
when she's old enough to appreciate it.

17. What's your favorite thing(s) about being pregnant?
Feeling her move and kick
Extra pampering from Brian
The end result!!!

18. What's your least favorite thing(s) about being pregnant?
Daily Nosebleeds
Blood work

19. What have you done to pamper yourself during the pregnancy?
Got a pregnancy massage
Taken lots of naps
Bought a Kate Spade Diaper Bag

20. Have you had the crazy pregnany hormones or has anything out of
the ordinary made you cry?
When watching movies or certain TV shows I'll tear up easier than I would've
previously.
I've had a few crying moments for no real reason.

21. Will you have a natural or medicated birth?
Hard to say at this point. Although I hate needles I'm open to having an
epidural. I believe once the epidural blocks the pain of the contractions I'll be
able to enjoy the labor process more comfortably.

22. Have you had any cases of pregnancy brain?
Yes, several small instances but one absolutely hilarious one...

23. Are you going to attend childbirth/lamaze classes?
Yes, we will start our childbirth classes in March.

24. Do you want more kids?
We'll see how labor and delivery goes...but more than likely, Yes.
